April 1, 2008

No joke here. Just the end of an era, for me, anyway. I've driven this van for 5 years-it's seen my girls grow from toddlers to little girls, it's gone through 3 moves, lots of road trips to Christian rock festivals, it's brought my son home from the hospital. I loved this van, and I would gladly drive it until it quit running if I still could. But, after a bad weekend, I guess it's time for a new car. I took this shot when we went to see it one last time, to retrieve all our things out of it, and assess the damage. I'm going to miss my van, it was a good, reliable vehicle that was great for the whole family.

I'm thinking a Ford Freestyle might be the beginning of my next era. :)

85mm. (that I am beyond words glad to have back!!) ss/800, f/5.6, ISO 200. I added a few textures, trying to convey my feelings about this whole mess.

What a cool shot. Love the texture. I was so sorry to read about what happened to your van, but also so happy for you that you recovered your camera! Wishing you many happy memories with your new wheels!

I love the texture and the "mood" here. And I am SO SO thrilled you got your camera & stuff back, even though the poor van has had it. :( {{{hugs}}}

I am sooo glad you were able to get your stuff back, that's gotta be the biggest relief ever. Sorry you had to go through this, it sucks! I had a car stolen for a joyride when I was in HS and it was scary, so I'm just glad you're ok.

Great textures and great journaling. It's amazing how much "life" happens in our car, isn't it?

Aw man, Jenn. I'm sorry you're losing your good old wheels. Here's hoping you like your next wheel as much! (This is an awesome photo)

Jenn...I am so glad you guys are ok, and that you actually got your stuff back. Isn't that just amazing and ridiculous all at the same time. I am thinking that a new car would make me feel better (oh and having my camera back too...haha)
